Wanda Willis, daughter of the Shenandoah Valley man who once penned a tribute song about the crash of Piedmont’s Flight 349, has made a Facebook page dedicated to the victims of that fateful flight. The song’s lyric is printed inside Phil’s book.

Bradley event in Charlottesville canceled due to DC-3 brake glitch

Problems with the brakes on the vintage DC-3 that was to have flown 1959 plane crash survivor Phil Bradley have grounded the 83-year-old retired union organizer and led to the cancellation of his scheduled appearance in Charlottesville May 5. A speaking engagement set for Tuesday evening, May 4, will go on as planned.

Phil Bradley, the sole survivor of Piedmont Flight 349 was interviewed by Charlottesville WINA-AM radio host Coy Barefoot on Wednesday, October 14. The show has been podcast. (The same day, a well-known Charlottesvillian named Ken Staples, who worked on body recovery at the crash site, also appeared on the radio program.)
